This class introduces the Spanish language and culture to healthcare providers. The basic concepts of the Spanish language include vocabulary and correct pronunciation presented with a focus on the healthcare environment. Learn to greet patients, schedule appointments, provide instructions, and use the Spanish words for body parts. Discover the important verbs and nouns that enable staff to successfully interact with Spanish-speaking clients. No prerequisite is required.

This Conversational Spanish language course provides further language practice to enhance communication between patients and their healthcare providers. Emphasis is on developing intermediate Spanish language skills; focus is on building confidence to use these new communication abilities when interacting with Spanish-speaking patients and their families at the hospital or doctor’s office, on the telephone, or at the patient’s home. Spanish for Healthcare Professionals Part 1, or its equivalence, is required before taking this continuation class..
